This is the best comb I’ve found to remove tangles and mats from my dog. I have a Lhasa Apso so his hair gets very long and thick. This comb has definitely cut down my grooming time by an hour and does not hurt the dog.

I have owned Old English Sheepdogs for over twenty five years. This is the best grooming tool I have ever used. Less pain for “Sam” and less effort for me. FIVE STARS!

We have a golden retriever and occasional mats are difficult to remove. This tool takes care of the problem! Easy to use and not unpleasant for the dog.

We recently got a cockapoo rescue. He has some behavior issues and a visit to a groomer was not something we were eager to try just yet. I remembered I had a ‘mat buster’ for my old English sheepdog years ago. I found this Safari mat remover online and it seemed to be a smaller version of what I had before so went to PetSmart to get one. They don’t carry it in their stores, I think it competes too much with their grooming salon services! So I ordered from Amazon and it quickly came from this company. It’s great! Our dog is apprehensive about most things but he tolerates brief sessions with this grooming aid, followed by regular brushing. His coat is the typical poodle/cocker hair, not much for shedding but inclined to small tangles and mats. I have most of his coat looking great and able to pass a comb through what had been a nightmare. I only hope the blades will stay sharp for a while, but it is cheap enough to order another when needed. If our hypersensitive guy will tolerate use of this mat remover, it definitely doesn’t cause much discomfort. If used gently and briefly, I could recommend it for any long-haired breed with mats and tangles.

After searching on Amazon for mat removers for my long-haired cat, I decided to order this even though it’s listed for “dogs.” The box refers to generic “pets” vs “cats” or “dogs” and the picture of the tool looked like a mat remover a friend has for their cat.
So, how did it turn out?
Well, my cat must have heard this is for dogs as he doesn’t like it much. It pulls his hair and I have yet to get out a single mat. This tool is probably wonderful for dogs (someone out there write a review and prove me right) but I suggest you don’t try this on your feline friend.
Hope this helps anyone tempted to try this on their cat…
