This product is probably okay if your pet has had a professional pedicure but for starting from scratch it does not help. Nail dust builds up on the grinding wheel and so it no longer trims. You are only allowed 3-4 second grinding. Save your money and have a pro do it. It saves a lot of grief!

My puppy has not freaked out with this product. In fact, she wanted to play with it. It does not sound loud and my pup took to it well.

I tried using this product on my small dog several times. I just sat with her and turned it on, until she would let me run it over her body & paws. However, she was too scared of the noise & grinding to allow me to use it to trim her nails. Also, her nails were too big for the 2nd hole, and too small for the larger hole. I returned this product.

I just tried this on one of my cats. While it worked (sortof)the only hole their nail would go through to do any REAL sanding was the #4 hole, which is the biggest. So basicly the other three are useless and even if it did grind well, which it doesn’t, it wouldn’t get low enough on the claw to do much good. I’d be trimming them every other day. It takes forever, smells awful (not the tools fault) and slowed WAY down when i put pressure on the grinder. I don’t see how it would work for any other cat or for a dog for that matter. Maybe with the guard off but then it’s just a dremel, which is what i might go with now. I gave it two stars cus it does grind but not very well.

I recently bought this for my frenchy puppies and mom. No way this is so loud they didn’t want any part of it. THe nail actually got caught on my adult frenchy and that was the end for her. If thier nails are already short they are too short to trim or detail. Don’t waste your money. Go to the groomer!
