Great video.I really liked that you say to use what word you choose. My 1st jack was easy to train my second not so much. One issue I had is the obedience school insiting I use words they chose vs what I use for my eldest.
When he was a spaz I would call him crazy dog.Luckily the school never heard my release command its go crazy lol.

That's cool and all but this dog clearly already knows the stay command. This doesn't help as much when you have a dog that has no idea what he's doing and is reluctant to stay.

How can you make the dog stay when he doesn't want to? In the example, the dog clearly knows the command, but mine is a little less open to the whole not-going-crazy thing. Should I say "no" every time he moves? Or just start really short before he loses his attention?

Im in the same boat as you. I tell him to stay, walk back a lil bit to make sure he stays, then he'll ignore me and walk away. So i guess my question too is, how i get him to actually stay and listen to me until i tell him to break or whatever?

well my dog was the same but if you just put him back into the same spot and say stay and wait a short time and then break and just gradually increase the time you might have to keep returning him to the same spot it took me a while but i got there in the end. once i told him to stay and then went out and when i came back 2 hours later he was still there i felt so bad :S whoops but at least he knew lol
